Restaurant Depot
Locations Nationwide
Restaurant Depot is a cash-and-carry wholesaler. Customers can go to the stores and buy anything they need to run their restaurants: fresh, frozen, and dry food, equipment, and supplies. They are also popular with independent restaurants and non-profits. Most of their stores are around 60,000 square feet, with the largest being 195,000 square feet.
ADA first worked with Restaurant Depot 20 years ago when they needed a local architect for their Valley View, OH store. We’ve now partnered with them on 110 of their 140 locations, designing everything from full ground-up buildings to small renovations.
Like many companies, Restaurant Depot had to adapt its business model during the pandemic. They have always served restaurant owners but opened to the public when many restaurants were shut down. The response was fantastic. In 2021 they started rolling out smaller Restaurant Depot Express stores to serve retail and wholesale customers. Our team helped them create prototype designs by evaluating different layouts, fixture schemes, and best practices for this new program.
Restaurant Depot also broadened their operations to include three distribution centers. We have started design for a fourth distribution center in Vernon, CA. The company in 2022 is on track to open four full stores, plus five Express stores. They will also complete three major renovations to operating stores.
Whether it’s designing a new store concept, or summarizing fixture count and building area data for every building they operate, Restaurant Depot has come to rely on ADA for all things building related.
